When I first learned about this Vitamin C infused hair detox, I couldn’t wait to give it a try. As a long-time fan of Elasticizer, a product that first drew me to the brand, I can attest to Philip Kingsley’s reputation for quality. Rumor has it that models using other hair brands would often receive an intensive pre-shoot treatment from Philip Kingsley to achieve the kind of mega-watt shine and sleekness that Elasticizer provides.

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of super clean, swishy hair – and that’s exactly what this detox treatment delivers. The product comes in the form of a Vitamin C Powder, which, when mixed with water, forms a jelly. Simply apply the resulting jelly liberally to your hair and scalp. Antioxidants can benefit your scalp just as much as your hair, helping to rid it of build-up, hard water minerals, and overall pollutants. The powder contains panthenol for long-lasting moisture, ascorbic acid (vitamin C), and the amino acid Betaine.

As a pre-shampoo treatment, I followed up with Philip Kingsley’s Body Building Weightless Shampoo and Conditioner, providing a delightful wash and condition. The ‘weightless’ formula allowed my hair to feel light and free, especially in warm weather. I certainly intend to use the detox again, and I noticed that subsequent washes also resulted in better, shinier, and more flowing hair.
While I may not necessarily need a body-building shampoo, I must admit that reintroducing this brand’s nurturing and refined hair cleansing power has been truly wonderful. I’m certain I’ll use it all up with pleasure.

I also fell in love with the Elasti-Treatment – a 5-in-1 pre-styling treatment that left my hair feeling supple and hydrated. I definitely noticed a significant difference in terms of shine and softness between washes when I used it versus when I didn’t. While I typically have a low-maintenance hair routine, this product is simply irresistible once you witness what it can do. It’s made up of Phytolastin (a natural elastin, similar to those found in skincare), Babassu oil, and Olive Oil, both high in essential fatty acids. I highly recommend it for hair that looks better with it than without. It’s £35 for a 150ml bottle, and I estimate it will last several months with two or three washes a week. The Detox treatment is £28 with 4 sachets and a measuring bottle included, and the Body Building Shampoo and Conditioner are priced at £10.50 and £20.50 respectively. A non-affiliate link is also available. At the time of writing, there’s a free Weatherproof Duo (great for chlorine or after swimming) offered with purchases over £50.
