[This is an unsponsored personal review] I recently acquired the Paula’s Choice 25% AHA + 2% BHA Exfoliant Peel, and I wonder why I didn’t try it sooner. Lately, my skin has become more sensitive than it used to be. I used to be able to tolerate almost anything on my skin, except for the Dr. Schramek Green Peel (that experience still gives me chills even though it was a decade ago). As a result, I’ve become more cautious with the products I use. I always keep REN’s Evercalm handy (it’s essential for anyone regularly exposing their skin to new and different products), and I’m more inclined to try products suited for sensitive skin rather than harsh peels.

Initially, I was hesitant to try the Paula’s Choice 25% AHA + 2% BHA Exfoliant Peel – the name alone sounds daunting. This peel combines several powerful acids – mandelic, glycolic, lactic, tartaric, malic, and salicylic. Upon application, it did create a slightly intense sensation, especially around my chin and neck for a brief period. I made myself count to ten before rinsing it off, and it settled well, so I left it on for the full ten minutes.

Post-treatment, the skin across the central part of my face appeared slightly red, as anticipated. I immediately applied Evercalm, followed by my regular moisturizer. Two days later, my skin is still smooth to the touch, with a refreshed appearance similar to one achieved by physical exfoliation – it looks a bit brighter and feels silkier. I intend to incorporate this into my routine as a once-a-week refresher until I’ve used it all up. Sephora currently offers it for £32.18 HERE, down from the original £39 (although I’ve noticed it being sold for £42 on other sites, for some inexplicable reason). I highly recommend it, but of course, everyone’s skin is different, so if you suspect it might not suit you, it’s best to skip it.
