[unpaid/sample] Honey, my 17-year-old dog, tried out this dog-friendly shampoo and conditioner set after much reluctance. Bathing her is a challenge due to her age, so I only wash her when necessary. However, the warm weather allowed me to skip the blow-drying process, making the experience less stressful for her.

When I first got Honey, the groomers would use a baby powder scent on her, which I didn’t fancy. I prefer more natural scents like Malin + Goetz and Aesop, even though they are pricier than my own shampoo. Chilcot’s formula contains lavender, peppermint, and aloe vera, providing a gentle yet effective cleanse. Curious, I even tried it on my own hair and achieved a clean and shiny result.

Due to Honey’s inability to stand for extended periods comfortably, I no longer do two shampoos and a conditioner during her baths. The leave-in conditioner spray from Chilcot has been a game-changer. Despite my initial aversion to leave-in conditioners, after discovering the benefits of Aveda Leave-In Conditioner for myself, I had no hesitation using the Chilcot spray on Honey. A quick comb-through post-application left her hair incredibly soft. The peppermint scent is more prominent than the lavender, and it fades quickly, striking the right balance of freshness without overwhelming. There is also a Rosemary & Geranium variant available for £15 each HERE. Check out a picture of Honey below, taken in the kitchen this morning.
