[Note: The following includes unpaid samples and affiliate links.] The importance of SPF is unquestionable, but let’s be real – in the midst of cold, dark winter days, it might not always top your beauty priority list. Similarly, on a scorching summer morning, I might just skip it altogether. I respect the need for protection, but I’m not fanatical about it. The new Malin + Goetz SPF, with its catchy tag line ‘orange is the new block’, perfectly embodies my approach – being vigilant yet casual, and that’s what makes me love it each time I read the tag line!

This modern SPF has an incredibly lightweight formula and blends seamlessly with my skin. Unlike many others, the gel-cream feels like a natural fit. I usually avoid layering products, especially in the heat, and tend to opt for just moisturizer before SPF. However, with Malin + Goetz SPF, you can easily replace your daytime moisturizer with this two-in-one solution. It doesn’t leave any shine, making it suitable for anyone – it’s so good that I might even convince Mr. BBB (British Beauty Blogger) to use it.

This mineral-based formula, my personal preference, eschews the heavy, old-fashioned sunblocks. It’s effective and simpler. Without leaving any residue or white cast, it’s likely suitable for deeper skin tones, although I haven’t tested this. An important aspect is how well it works under makeup. I’ve tried it under Chanel Water Fresh Tint, L’Oreal Paris True Match, and bareMinerals Complexion Rescue, and it performed perfectly under all of them, except for a slight smudge with Water Fresh, but only after I tried rubbing my skin later on. It’s a strong recommendation from me, especially if you prefer fewer products on your skin, particularly on a warm day. In fact, my ideal companion for this would be Tan Luxe (£36 HERE), allowing me to eliminate everything else before applying any blush. Malin + Goetz SPF30 is available for £32 HERE. I’ve provided a link to SpaceNK in case you have points, but Tan Luxe is £28 at Look Fantastic HERE.
