[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Blue nails are expected to be a popular trend this summer, and I’ve been experimenting with a few shades from Mavala. Finding the right blue shade is key as some can make your nails look like they’ve been marked with a pen, which isn’t the desired effect!

From left to right on the wheel: Trinidad, Blueberry, and Santa Monica. Trinidad happens to be my favorite – it’s a smoky blue, quite unique, whereas Santa Monica and Blueberry (a bit pen-like) are brighter and more lively in color.

Regardless of your preference, these shades evoke thoughts of summer, white t-shirts, and swimming pools. Even if you’re unsure, the benefit of Mavala is that their bottles are small – allowing you to try the trend without a significant commitment.

This image isn’t as clear as I’d prefer as I took it on the train! Nevertheless, it’s Santa Monica – ever since I got those nail pens, I’ve been adding a dot to every manicure because why not? This shade suited my complexion well as it’s a warm tone – although my mom wasn’t a fan! You can explore a range of Mavala blues here, priced at £6.40 each.
