[unpaid/sample] Having uniquely styled nails for Christmas may not be as essential as before, considering the likelihood that many of us will opt for a more casual attire of jeans and jumpers on Christmas day rather than full-on sequins and glam. However, there’s a part of me that still desires a touch of glamour on my nails, and the CND Cocktail Couture Collection offers a few shades that perfectly cater to that desire.

The shade “She’s A Gem” caught my attention – it’s an emerald hue with abundant silvery shimmer. On the other hand, “How Merlot” is the pinkest Merlot I’ve ever encountered but darkens with a second coat. It’s important to remember that with the Vinylux formula, you’ll need the special top coat to ensure longevity (which it does, unless you’re engaging in activities like chopping wood!).

Both “Bordeaux Babe” and “Devil Red” exude glamour – fiery and glossy. Bordeaux is the richer of the two, while Devil Red leans more towards a fire engine red. Initially, they appear very pink on the first coat and only transform into true reds with the second coat, so layering is necessary.

The shade “Drama Queen” appears to have a shift in the bottle; however, it transforms into a shimmering berry shade when applied. “Get The Gold” is the least exciting to me as it’s a pale gold, more suitable for skin tones that don’t complement warmer gold tones.
