It’s refreshing to see Tatcha addressing the needs of oily skin with their latest cleanser. Having tried it on my non-oily skin, I’d gladly use it again for a more radiant cleanse. This product excels in leaving the skin feeling revitalized and perky.
Given to me at a Tatcha event, the Deep Cleanse has become one of my favorite gifts. Its natural imperfections make it beautifully unique. Featuring luffa fruit as a mild exfoliant and silk derived amino acids, this cleanser offers a gentle and softening experience. Both The Deep Cleanse and The Rice Wash possess a certain ‘stickiness’ that feels like they’re actively working on your skin to remove dirt and oil.

The Deep Cleanse offers a cleansing experience distinct from oils or balms. It gently foams when water is added, and I found that applying it to damp skin around my nose before lathering up gave the best results. The luffa particles in this product become apparent and appear to slough off dead skin cells, leaving the skin incredibly soft post-cleanse. On the other hand, The Rice Wash may leave a slight residue, but do not over-rinse. Simply follow up with your moisturizer as usual and the residue sensation will disappear. I’ve been using The Rice Wash on and off for several months, and it’s become more of a luxurious treat cleanse rather than a daily essential.

Despite the label for ‘oily’ skin, I personally find the end result so delightful that I won’t limit myself from using it. I don’t perceive it as stripping or harsh—quite the opposite, in fact. If you’re considering a purchase, there’s an offer for a ‘Lucky Bag’ with a £100 spend, granting you up to £200 worth of additional products (specifics not mentioned). Although the brand’s products come with premium prices, it might be worth teaming up with a friend to reach the spend threshold and then divvy up the extra products. The Deep Cleanse is priced at £41 here, while the Rice Wash is also £41 here. I’m already a fan of this brand, particularly their Rice Powder, £60 here, and the Kissu Lip Balm, £25 here, which is an absolute joy to use. To claim your Lucky Bag, use code LUCKY23.
