[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] This gourmand fragrance, created by Olivier Cresp along with his daughter Anais for Akro, is a unique olfactory experience inspired by lemon cupcakes they enjoyed at their favorite Soho bakery.

Upon first encountering Bake, I had conflicting feelings – a mix of dislike and admiration. Not typically a fan of gourmand scents, the sharp lemon notes in Bake offset much of the overpowering sweetness. The fragrance carries hints of vanilla, a touch of praline, and a subtle smokiness, possibly from the rum chantilly, offering a rich and indulgent experience resembling a cupcake.

Although decadent and alluring, much like an overly-iced cupcake that leaves a lingering regret after consumption, Bake’s lemony freshness evolves into a creamy, sugary essence. If you enjoy sweet scents with an irresistibly indulgent quality, this fragrance may enchant you, leaving you smelling quite literally edible. However, if overly sweet fragrances are not to your taste, this may not be for you. It’s recommended to start with the 30ml bottle priced at £80.
