[unpaid/affiliate] Have you heard of Comfortcore? Essentially, you can add the term ‘core’ to anything and suddenly it becomes a fashion trend. Comfortcore differs slightly from loungewear in that it involves dressing for comfort with textured and flowing fabrics such as boucle, jersey, or velvet, without compromising on style. A fleece onesie might not quite fit the bill, but faded joggers paired with a jacket could work. The best part is that Comfortcore is a style that suits all body shapes, ages, and sizes. I’ve primarily selected items from Hush because this brand excels in Comfortcore fashion. When it comes to bottoms, if you’re on the shorter side like me, consider getting them tailored to hit just above the ground – precision isn’t crucial in this look. Joggers usually don’t come in various lengths, but those without a cuffed bottom can be folded or shortened. A jersey jacket is the key piece that transitions loungewear to Comfortcore.
M&S offers a suitable jersey jacket – if you’re not quite ready, a similar one is available at Uniqlo, although it’s not in stock yet. I tend to be cautious with brightly colored jackets or suits because they can sometimes resemble airline uniforms (orange, in particular, reminds me of EasyJet). However, this green hue seems to work well and pairs nicely with jeans. The jacket comes in green, navy, taupe, and black. It provides the same comfort as a cardigan but adds a touch of elegance, and like a cardigan, it can be worn underneath an overcoat if it’s roomy enough. You can get it for £39 here.
You can pair this jacket with a black and white striped t-shirt – long or short sleeve – along with black joggers for a complete look; although, I must admit that the De Nada t-shirt is catching my eye. I appreciate Hush t-shirts because they have a looser, wider neckline compared to most. The t-shirt is priced at £35 here.
Consider pairing black or beige Morgan joggers with these items, priced at £45 here. If you’re unsure about footwear, I recommend sneakers every time, but if you have Doc Martens, feel free to wear those too! You might also want to check out the Lindsey joggers, available in plain designs here.
If you want the epitome of Comfortcore, consider a jersey jumpsuit – almost like a onesie but with a stylish twist. This versatile piece can be worn throughout the year; layer a cami t-shirt underneath and a long-line hoodie on top if you prefer that over a jacket. The long-line hoodie cardigan is a fantastic addition to your wardrobe, available in sizes 12 to 26, and discounted from £89 to £69 here.
This jersey jumpsuit has it all – comfort, style, and a built-in hood that can be flipped out over your jacket. Moreover, it’s on sale from £89 to £36 here. This jumpsuit and the t-shirt are possibly my top picks. The Liberte sweatshirt, if you fancy a splash of color, is priced at £65 here. So, there you have it – explore different options as jersey jackets will likely be everywhere, and not all stores have their full spring collections yet. I personally don’t reserve my jackets for spring and summer – I simply layer them under a coat. And if you’re concerned about cold legs, consider wearing long socks; I’ve become a fan and got mine from M&S here.
