An exploration of Ipsum, the Australian luxury skincare brand, has been quite the revelation. Despite the premium pricing – a bit steep in my opinion – the products have truly managed to impress. In fact, they seem to be competing in the same league as brands like REN and Balance Me in terms of quality and efficacy.
I initially had reservations about the lemon myrtle and sandalwood scent, fearing it might end up reminiscent of cleaning products. However, to my relief, the fragrance unfolds into a subtle, earthy, and calming aroma with just a hint of citrus.
The range boasts an impressive array of ingredients, a rare find in skincare these days. The texture of the products is substantial enough to effectively remove makeup and leave the skin feeling both cleansed and supple.
One standout from the range is the Ipsum Best Skin Enzyme Micro Polish, a concoction of rice powder and caviar lime delivering AHA action. Packed with phytocompounds, including ferulic acid, vitamin C, and E, it offers gentle physical exfoliation while incorporating potent AHA and BHA properties, offering one of the most effective skin smoothing experiences I’ve encountered.
While I don’t usually prioritize a skin mist, Ipsum’s version managed to catch my attention, especially due to its unique fragrance that oddly reminded me of a refreshing gin and tonic. Comprising key ingredients like hyaluronic acid and raspberry seed oil, it provides hydration without any drying effects. Incorporating it into a skincare ritual adds a delightful finishing touch. The mist is priced at £32, the balm at £35, and the micro polish at £36.
